(Lampropeltis triangulum hondurensis) Milk snakes are a great beginner reptile for anyone looking for a smaller species of snake to start keeping. Adults only grow up to 2 feet in length and stay quite slender, opposed to ball pythons which can grow quite long and thick. Milk snakes require a heat gradient of up to 88F on the hot side and no colder than 76F on the cooler side. This should be met with a heat mat, and additional overhead heat bulbs if necessary. Humidity levels should be kept in the range of 40-60%, higher during the times of shedding. The enclosure should have enough room for the snake to fully extend its entire body the length of the enclosure easily.
